This is the perfect companion trip to GreatCycling’s popular Monte e Mare tour, extending the Tuscan biking experience into a wider area of Tuscany with 3 hotels and up-paced rides into the heart of Tuscany and all points south. Throughout, cyclists explore the textured landscapes and hidden ancient towns that lead from mountain to sea on the Tuscan Coast known as Maremma.

The trip starts with a 2-night stay in deluxe accommodation in Pienza, just minutes from its historical centre. Moving on to the pristine and sparsely populated Amiata region, riders settle in at an upscale hotel located in unspoiled parkland where the authentic organic cuisine and ambience are sure to invigorate. After 3 days of energetic cycling in the rolling hills, open fields and woodlands that mark this part of Italy, the tour reaches its final destination, a country hospice near the sea built in a 13th century flourmill and olive press. This agriturismo has been transformed into a modern hotel that pays homage to the original structure of the day, with surrounding farmland and grounds that offers a swimming pool, tennis courts, horseback riding and hiking trails. A completely organic property whose kitchen follows the tenets of the Slow Food movement offers well-crafted local cuisine.
