The Lake District of Italy stretches from Piemonte through Lombardia to the Veneto and has a mythic quality. Your tour will centre in the Province of Varese, which is truly a cycling paradise. The Giro d’Italia almost always visits the region, as do other cycling events. For the most part you will ride along small, panoramic roads. All rides commence in the town of Varese and lead out to the countryside where you will travel through a number of small towns, regional parks, and into Switzerland if you wish. Each day you will have a choice of average daily rides, between 60 km and 100 km, with vertical ascents between 500 mts and, as much as, 1,700 mts, depending on the route you choose.
